My House is Full of Mirrors
The Official Bio-Pic Mini Series

Directed by Vittorio Sindoni

Starring:

Sophia Loren with Margareth Made, Enzo Decaro andNicola Di Pin

About the film:

An Authorized Biographical Mini-Series Based on the Best Selling book by Maria Scicolone (Sophia Loren’s sister)

A breath taking bio-pic production about Sophia Loren’s life, her volatile family, and how she rose to fame starring Sophia Loren as her own mother.

Synopsis:

Sophia Loren takes on a challenging role, perhaps the most difficult of her career, playing the part of her own mother, Romilda, in My House is Full of Mirrors, taken from the best selling book by her sister, Maria Scicolone. As a young girl in Pozzuoli, a picturesque seaside town near Naples, Romilda Villani’s beauty wins her first place in a Greta Garbo look-alike contest. She receives film offers from America, but her parents refuse to let her go. For the rest of her life, she will try to make up for that broken dream.

Romilda’s first daughter, Sophia Scicolone (soon to be Loren), is born when Romilda is still young, from her relationship with Riccardo Scicolone, a glamorous but undependable man. For years, Romilda tries to make their union official, but Riccardo will not hear of marriage.

Not even the birth of their second daughter, Maria, changes his mind. Romilda is strong, intelligent and witty; a complex vulnerable woman capable of unusual cruelty – masterfully portrayed by Sophia Loren. At the end of the war, a penniless Romilda takes her older daughter to Rome in search of a better life, transferring her own amibions onto Sophia, using the girl’s beauty to open up the doors of the film world once again. Sohpia starts as a bit player but quickly makes a name for
herself as a Photo Novel model. Shortly thereafter, major Hollywood studio directors seek her out.

The miniseries depicts the extraordinary start of Sophia Loren’s acting career, while giving justice to the opposite fortunes of her sister, who incidentally at the eve of Sophia’s Oscar, learns she is pregnant with he first child. She lives a solitary life in the village of her birth, her musical talent stifled by her mothers oppression and obsessive reliving her own life through her famous daughter. Maria marries the wrong man, one who will never be faithful to her. At last, Romilda returns home to the picturesque ocean village, to breath the fresh ocean air, dedicating the
last years of her life to music.

MY HOUSE IF SULL OF MIRRORS portrays a complex family, filled with love, betrayal and broken dreams, as each of the three women strives to manage their lives, together as a family, and apart through their very different experiences. It is the definitive autobiographical television series about Sophia Loren, told by her sister, and as portrayed by Sophia Loren herself, any movie lovers collectors must-have.

Presented in a special collector’s box set edition including Sophia Loren’ film history portfolio and loads of pictures.
