Four
young women, crammed into a small Manhattan apartment, all
with dead end jobs (or no jobs at all) and overdue rent.
They discover cash and self esteem when they set up an illegal
bookie joint in their kitchen. Suddenly they can pay bills
and dream about the future. But boys, moms, the police,
the New York summer heat and other uncontrollables get in
the way of anything going as planned.
