“Thrilling adventure into Thailand’s heart of darkness…
better than The Beach”
– Radio 5 Live

Adam, a young British backpacker, finds himself single after he and his girlfriend break up their first night on holiday in Bangkok. Disillusioned with his own culture, he searches for escape in the lush landscape and friendly people. In this culturally rich yet poor and exploited land, "butterfly man" is an island term for a tourist who "goes from lady to lady to lady”. When Adam meets and falls in love with the stunning Em, and then messes up, he has to examine who he is and what he really wants from her. But he must learn quickly because danger is imminent for them both in this tale of passion, adventure and love.
